Past Scholarship Recipients - Where Are They Now?

Mitch Beaverson
2014 Scholarship Recipient
Mitch graduated in May 2018 from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in construction management. While in his senior year of college, he officially started his woodworking business– Beaverson Custom Cabinetry. When he started his business, Mitch knew that there would be a huge learning curve. So far, he’s learned something new with every project.

Chase Eller
2014, 2015, & 2016 Scholarship Recipient
Chase Eller graduated from Pittsburg State University in the Spring of 2017. Currently, he works at Advanced Fixtures, Inc. as a Draftsman. As a Draftsman, Chase produces shop and part drawings to send to the shop, submits drawings to send to the client, and writes programs for the CNC machines.

Hunter Morrison
2013 Scholarship Recipient
Hunter graduated from Pittsburg State University with a B.S. in 2014 and with an M.S. in 2015. He currently works for High Country in the architectural millwork industry as a Lead Engineer.

Michael Morrissey
2013 & 2014 Scholarship Recipient
Michael graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2015. He currently works at High Country Millwork where he has been a Lead Engineer for the past two years. As a Lead Engineer, Michael is responsible for determining the design details on the job, holding Engineers responsible for producing drawings and coordinating site conditions with drawing details. He’s currently transitioning into an Buyer II position where he will be responsible for buying commodity goods for the company.

Mark Welle
2014, 2015, & 2016 Scholarship Recipient
Mark graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2016. Mark works at Okoboji High School as the Industrial Technology teacher and is also growing his own company, Welle Woodworking. At Okoboji, he teaches AutoCad and three Furniture/Cabinetry classes to freshmen through seniors. At Welle Woodworking, he wears all of the hats. He is currently acquiring the necessary machinery to build custom furniture, cabinetry/millwork, and any other wood components.
